Mexico out of the World Cup; loses 2-0 against Brazil

News

The excitement was to the rooftop for soccer fans ending with disappointment for many as Brazil beat Mexico.

Monday morning fans arrived optimistic that Mexico would make history but Brazil put the game out of reach early on.

Dozens of fans were up bright and early wearing their green, white and red.

“Hopefully Mexico wins and advances to the next stage,” said Hugo Zavala.

After the team’s loss last week fans were hoping today would have a different outcome, even when playing against Brazil.

“The fact that it is brazil, we know brazil we have played against them, we have beat them already, i think we have a chance at beating them again,” said Carlos Diaz.

Despite the confidence from fans, Mexico went on to lose 2 to 0, leaving some fans looking for someone to blame..

“I could see the players had the potential to advance but i blame everything on the coach because he made the wrong subs,” said Larry Mendoza.

Monday’s game was the fifth match for Mexico, it was also the elimination round for them.

“I am sad about it, but it is what it is,” said Alex Iturbe.

Despite the loss, fans enjoyed their time at Fat Boys restaurant, with food and a beer at hand.

“Even though we lost everybody was still happy, it was a good ambience,” Mendoza added.

This loss unfortunately means that Mexico is out of the world cup, but fans say that at least they made it this far.
