Memorial for Riverside CHP officer killed in the line of duty

Law enforcement officers from across the state are expected at a memorial today for the California Highway Patrol officer killed by a driver last week in Riverside.

Officer Andre Moye, Jr. pulled over Aaron Luther and was filling out paperwork to impound Luther’s pickup truck the CHP says Luther pulled out a gun and started shooting

Moye called for help. Two responding officers were shot in the legs and were recovering. Luther was killed.

Moye had been with the highway patrol for about three years and was a motorcycle officer for about a year.

Luther was a convicted felon on parole and was not supposed to have a gun.
