The man who drowned on Sunday in Millerton Lake has been identified.

Zacharias Loriezo, 85, of Clovis, drowned in the cove known as East Bay.

“The incident was reported as an [85-year-old] male attempting to swim from the shoreline to a boat that was anchored in 50 feet of water approximately 50 yards off the shoreline,” Steve Barber, ranger supervisor with California State Parks, said.

Loriezo was previously reported to be 84 years old, but the Fresno County Coroner’s Office has since updated that information.
