Man taken to the hospital after shooting in Southwest Fresno

News

Fresno police searching for a shooting suspect, after a man is found shot several times in Southwest Fresno.

It happened around 7 p.m., near the 1100 block of east Lorena avenue.

Officials say the victim had several gunshot wounds to his upper body, but was conscious, breathing and uncooperative.

Police also found a dark SUV in the area, with several bullet holes. They believe it may have been occupied at the time of the shooting.

“Someone walked up to that vehicle, there was an argument in the middle of the roadway, on Lorena, and the subject that was standing outside fired at that vehicle, striking it several times,” Lt. Larry Bowlan said.

Police say that suspect took off on foot.

They believe this shooting is gang related.

Anyone with information, should call the Fresno Police Department.
