Police say a 21-year-old African American male was leaving a store on Fruit and Dakota ave when someone came up and shot at his car. A bullet hit him in the leg.

The victim then drove to an apartment complex near Fruit and Ashlan ave to get help.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

At this moment police do not have a description of the suspect, or how many people were involved. They do know that the suspect was driving a white sedan.

The shooting does not appear to be gang related.
