Man in a wheelchair hit by truck Fresno Police investigating

The Fresno Police Department is investigating a car versus pedestrian crash near Gettysburg and Blackstone that sent a man to the hospital in critical condition. Investigators say it happened at around 7:30 p.m. Monday night when a man in his 60s was trying to cross Gettysburg near Effie in the dark in a wheelchair. The man was hit by a truck driving by. Investigators say the driver did stop to help and he passed a sobriety test at the scene. Investigators still aren’t sure who is at fault for the crash and say they still don’t know if the man in the wheelchair was impaired in any way. Officers say he was known as a homeless man who frequented the area. At last update, the man was in stable, but critical condition.
