Man burglarizes home of elderly man in wheelchair, Fresno Sheriff says

News

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect who burglarized an elderly man in a wheelchair on Tuesday.

Around 4 p.m., the suspect was captured on video as he walked into a home along the 4500 block of east Princeton Avenue in Fresno and committed a hot prowl burglary, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The suspect walked past the elderly homeowner as he sat in a wheelchair and went into a bedroom, the Sheriff’s Office said. The suspect stole money and a gun — then left in a white, newer model car which had a dent on the center of the hood.

The homeowner immediately called the Sheriff’s Office to report the crime.

The suspect was wearing a black T-shirt which had the word “Crooks” on it. He also wore black jeans and black Air Jordan shoes, the Sheriff’s Office said. Based on the video, he appears to be white or Hispanic, about 5-foot-8 with an average build and shaved or short hair.

Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Office at (559) 600-3111.

You may also call Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867 and mention case number 17-10409. You will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
