FRESNO, California — The man accused of shooting a ten-month-old baby in the head is scheduled to make his first appearance in court Wednesday morning.
He is facing 16 felony charges, while the baby he shot remains in the hospital in critical condition.
Baby Fayth Percy was shot early Sunday morning while she was sitting on her mother’s lap.
Police say 23-year-old Marcos Echartea walked up to the car and started shooting.
He now faces several attempted murder charges for each of the people in that car.
Echartea also faces charges for a drive-by shooting in May.
He is scheduled to be arraigned on all 16 charges Wednesday.
