Man, 18, shot near Fresno’s Tower District

FRESNO, California (KSEE/KGPE) – An 18-year-old man was shot near the Tower District Sunday night, according to the Fresno Police Department.

Just after 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Roosevelt Avenue for a report of a shooting victim, says Fresno Police Lt. Bill Dooley.

The man was found with single gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition, but is stable.

Dooley says the the victim was in the alley behind his home when he was shot by an unknown suspect. No evidence of a shooting could be found in the alley, he adds.

Officers and detectives are canvassing the neighborhood looking for witnesses and surveillance videos, as well as where the crime occurred.
