FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A difficult and rugged terrain is what CHP’s Aerial Unit dealt with during the last few weeks.
“They were battling 50-mile-an-hour winds,” Sgt. Chris Barrett. “Additionally, there was a cloud layer that was obscuring part of half dome.”
On Sept. 2, a hiker suffered a terrifying fall from one of your popular landmarks.
Just a week before the half-dome rescue, Art Krieg also found himself stranded in Yosemite.
“I’ve hiked all over the world I hike solo in the winter at nighttime,” he said.
Krieg was rescued in less than an hour and is expected to make a full recovery.
