‘We are part of the community’: Transgender Day of Visibility celebrated in Fresno

Local News

Fresno’s transgender community celebrated themselves, and invited others to learn more about them Saturday.

Alliant International University hosted the Transgender Day of Visibility event, featuring educational workshops, live entertainment and various other artists, all to celebrate trans lives and accomplishments.

Organizers say the overall goal is to show trans folks exist in our communities.

“There is a transgender community in Fresno, and it’s not just the bay area and LA where our community exists. But we are actually everywhere, and we are part of the community and should be recognized as such,” says Zoyer Zyndel, chair of Trans-E-Motion.

The nonprofit Trans-E-Motion partnered with Alliant International University to host the event.

It’s a 100% volunteer effort.
