The two people killed in a crash on Highway 180 west of Fresno on Monday have been identified.
The crash happened just after 11 p.m. on Highway 180 near Hayes Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol said the preliminary investigation revealed a 23-year-old man was driving a 2018 Mercedes east in a westbound lane of Highway 180 when the vehicle crashed head on with 2015 Honda being driven by a 22-year-old woman which was traveling west.
Both drivers were killed in the crash.
The driver of the Honda was identified as Yvette Jimenez, 22, of Firebaugh. The driver of the Mercedes was identified as Emad Murshed, 23, of Kerman.
Drugs may have been a factor in the collision, CHP said.
The collision is still under investigation.
