Two killed in Bass Lake crash identified

MADERA COUNTY, California (KSEE/KGPE) – The two people killed after their car overturned in Bass Lake on Wednesday have been identified.

A call came in around 7:30 a.m. about a car overturned in Bass Lake.

Samuel Rosasco, 21, of Oakhurst, was driving on Road 222 near Road 426, when he took a left curve, but his car went off the road.

He and his passenger, Karina Barnett, 17, of Ahwahnee, crashed into an embankment, then went across all lanes of Road 222.

Their car came to rest upside down in Bass Lake.

CHP says neither of them were wearing seat belts during the crash.
