Local News

The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office named a deputy as the Officer of the Year in a ceremony Saturday.

Deputy Matt Conley was named Officer of the Year during the Exeter/Farmersville Knights of Columbus Community Services Safety Recognition Dinner at the Exeter Veterans Memorial Hall.

“It’s quite an honor,” Conley said. “I appreciate the recognition.”

Conley is a patrol deputy and also serves as a drone operator.

The sheriff’s office says he paves the way for new deputies by serving as a Field Training Officer and he’s been a member of the Sheriff’s Honor Guard for nine years.

Conley volunteers as the President of the Tulare County Peace Officer Memorial & Education Foundation where he helped raise $150,000 to improve the memorial and currently he’s helping raise $25,000 for a K-9 Memorial.
