Tower rapist victim and Fresno council members issue letter to Governor Newsom to keep convicted predator behind bars

Local News

The Fresno city council issues a letter to Governor Gavin Newsom urging him to put a halt to the parole hearing for the Tower rapist. Rudolph Acosta is schedule to have a parole hearing later this month, where he could be released from prison after just serving 28 of a 78 year sentence.

Rape victim, Mirna Garcia says she will attend Acosta’s parole hearing but hopes Newsom responds to their calls to stop it. Acosta raped Garcia and 7 others back in 1991. If released, Acosta says he will return to Fresno and live in the Tower District.
