Tower District smoke shop raided by Bureau of Cannabis Control

Local News

FRESNO, California (KGPE) – A Fresno-based smoke shop has been raided by the Bureau of Cannabis Control after the state agency says it received a tip about illegal cannabis activity taking place inside.

The Stuffed Pipe Smoke Shop in Fresno’s Tower District was visited by the team around noon Wednesday.

The Bureau of Cannabis Control was also investigating the possibility of contaminated vape cartridges at the location.

“I could see some action going on but I wasn’t really sure what was happening,” said Diamond Hair Studio Owner Lara Contreras.

Contreras said she hasn’t had any issues with the owners in the past five years she has run her Tower business.

“Some people don’t want to come down here when certain things happen but pretty much I feel safe every day here,” said Contreras.

A request for comment from the store went unanswered but one of the employees there confirmed that the business remained open after the raid took place.

The Bureau of Cannabis Control has since revealed that thousands of products were seized in the raid.
