A toddler died Wednesday after being found in a pool on Friday, the Visalia Police Department said.

At 5:36 p.m., officers responded to the 3100 block of west Sunnyside Court regarding a 15-month-old that had fallen into a pool.

When the first officer arrived, the child was still in the pool, the Police Department said.

The officer jumped into the pool, pulled the child out, and began life-saving measures.

The child was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in critical condition and eventually transferred to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera.

The Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation.

On Wednesday, the child was removed from life support and died as a result of complications related to falling into the pool.

Detectives are still investigating the circumstances that led to the child falling into the pool.
