FRESNO, California (KGPE) – A photo of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is seen burning in former congressional candidate, Elizabeth Heng’s, newest ad for her newly-formed political action committee.
It’s a 30-second ad that’s being played nation-wide, first airing during Thursday’s democratic presidential debates.
In it, Heng says “This is the face of socialism,” as a photo of Ocasio-Cortez pans, then catches fire. She then asks if Ocasio-Cortez knows the “horror of socialism.”
Referring to her own face, she says, “Mine is a face of freedom. My skin is not white. I am not outrageous, racist or socialist.”
Ending with, “I’m a Republican.”
Once the video was released, Ocasio-Cortez responded on Twitter, saying the video is a “love letter” to “the GOP’s white supremacist(s)…”
In response, Heng tweeted back, asking if the congresswoman is calling her a racist. “I’m calling all Democrats out for supporting an evil ideology. Or are you just in Congress to hang out with celebrities and tweet out ridiculous ideas like the green new deal?”
The New Faces GOP website describes the mission as such: Help elevate the next generation of Republicans so that we can not only survive as a party, but expand beyond the boundaries we’ve set for ourselves. Identify the new faces of the GOP who will lead us into tomorrow.
The topics the PAC seemingly will focus on: Socialism, federalism, immigration and conservative censorship.
Heng first came to notoriety when she ran against long-time democratic valley Congressman, Jim Costa in 2018 for the D-16 seat.
