The teenager who hit and killed a Clovis Unified educator earlier this year was sentenced Monday to three years in prison.
Rogelio Alvarez Maravilla hit and killed Gavin Gladding, a vice principal in the Clovis Unified School District, in September.
Alvarez Maravilla left the scene of the accident.
In October, he pleaded no contest to leaving the scene of an accident, vehicular manslaughter, driving without a license and destruction of evidence.
#BREAKING: Rogelio Alvarez Maravilla addressed the judge, and says he’s sorry and he prays for Gavin Gladding’s family everyday. But the judge said there is a “level of callousness” in his actions of leaving the scene.
