Family recalls ‘great’ and ‘loving’ man who was found in Lake Success

Local News

TULARE COUNTY, California – A Los Angeles man was found dead in a Tulare County lake Sunday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.

Mario Sandoval, 43, was reported missing Saturday just before 6 p.m. at Lake Success. Deputies were told he disappeared while at the lake with his family.

Ground and air crews searched the area, and by Sunday morning, his body was found in the lake.

Officials say Sandoval’s death is not being considered suspicious; at this time, they believe it was an accident.

The family of Sandoval say he was a great person, loving father, brother and son.

His brother says, “He was a hard working man that in 20 years never called out of work even though he was in constant pain, but when people would say why don’t you just call out he would show pictures of his children and say ‘I’m doing this to give them a great life. Everything I do – I do for them.'”

Adding, “His birthday was (recent) and he received so much love from people all around they made a mural for him from local artists. He was a great family man that was the center of our family we loved him so much because he loved everyone he taught us how to love with an open heart. He left behind two sons and a stepdaughter he treated as his own, the love of his life Amanda, me his brother, his sister my brother in law and parents.”

A mural was also painted of him, showing how much he is loved and missed.
