A 7-year-old girl is shaken up after she ran out into the road and was hit by an unlicensed driver, police say.

Just before 6 p.m., Fresno Police officers responded to the area of Drummond and Jensen avenues for reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian, Lt. Bill Dooley said.

He said the girl was playing in the yard of her home when she ran out into the road and the driver wasn’t able to stop in time.

She sustained minor injuries.

Dooley said he visited the girl at Community Regional Medical Center and she’s doing good, just a little scared.

The driver remained at the scene.
