A school bus was involved in a crash on Highway 99 after California Highway Patrol says it was traveling the wrong way Thursday night.

At around 10:50 p.m., CHP responded to the area of Highway 99 northbound and Ashlan Avenue for a school bus versus a truck.

Officers say a 55-year-old woman was driving her bus, following another one, and got onto the highway the wrong way from the Golden State Boulevard offramp.

At the same time, a 50-year-old woman driving a 2008 Ford F-150 northbound on the highway struck the bus.

The driver of the truck had minor injuries and was treated on scene, CHP says.

There were no students on the bus at the time of the crash.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, CHP says, and alcohol/drug impairment did not appear to be a factor.
