River Fire burns 9,656 acres and is 97% contained

The River Fire is burning in Madera and Mariposa Counties.

MARIPOSA COUNTY, California. (KSEE/KGPE) – The River Fire has burned 9,656 acres and is 97% contained Monday morning, according to Cal Fire.

Cal Fire said there was minimal smoldering overnight due to moderate humidity recovery.

All evacuations orders, evacuation warnings, and road closures have been lifted.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
