Quincy Pondexter: I want to be the “unofficial mayor of Fresno”

Local News

NBA veteran and Valley native Quincy Pondexter is just about ready to take his game to the political arena. In a rare, tell-all interview with the former San Antonio Spurs forward, Pondexter opens up about his plans to run for the mayor of Fresno. Before that, Pondexter wants to become Fresno’s unofficial mayor. He recently started mentoring London Wallace, the 17-year old boy who’s suing the Fresno Police Department over an incident that occurred in January of this year.

Pondexter also weighs in on the on-going controversy surrounding players kneeling during the national anthem. Pondexter is currently looking to land with a new NBA team, expressing interest in the Lakers and Clippers.
