Pedestrian struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in northeast Fresno

UPDATE: Around 11 p.m. Fresno Police say they located the suspect vehicle in Auberry, near Table Mountain Casino. Police say a subject has been detained, and is being evaluated for possible a DUI. At this moment the individual has not been arrested for the crime.


A man was killed by a hit-and-run driver in northeast Fresno Thursday night, police say.

It happened at Copper River Drive and Friant Road around 6:30 p.m., according to Lt. Bill Dooley with the Fresno Police Department.

There is no suspect information, Dooley says.

This is the same area were the beloved Clovis Unified administrator, Gavin Gladding, was killed by a hit-and-run driver in September 2018.
