A judge on Wednesday gave Fernanda Lopez 210 days in jail for her role in the hit-and-run death of Clovis Unified educator Gavin Gladding.
Lopez was the passenger and girlfriend of Rogelio Maravilla — the teen who hit and killed Gladding last year.
Investigators said Lopez was a passenger in the truck that her boyfriend Maravilla was driving when he hit and killed Clovis Unified Vice Principal Gavin Gladding while he was jogging in northeast Fresno.
“I believe [Lopez] is a good person, but there’s the saying ‘good people do bad things,'” the judge said Wednesday.
She was also sentenced to three years probation and was ordered to pay half the costs of the funeral.
Lopez was had pleaded no contest to accessory after the fact/having knowledge of the crime as well as destruction/concealment of evidence.
