One person dead in southeast Fresno rollover crash, police confirm

One person is dead after a rollover crash in southeast Fresno Sunday night.

It happened around 7 p.m. at Chestnut and Church avenues, according to Lt. Bill Dooley with the Fresno Police Department.

He says five people, four family members and a friend, were traveling northbound on Chestnut Avenue when three cars, including their own, collided.

Of the five people in the car, Dooley says the family friend died at the scene.

Two children, three and five-years-old were also inside the car, and Dooley says they are doing OK. The two surviving adults are the children’s parents, Dooley confirms.

One of the drivers of the cars involved was arrested on suspicion of a DUI.
