Newsom visits Central Valley as omicron variant appears in California

MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) — Governor Gavin Newsom is set to visit a COVID-19 vaccine clinic in the Central Valley Wednesday.

In a release, it was announced that the governor would highlight the availability of COVID-19 vaccine boosters for everyone 18 years and older. Newsom’s appearance comes on the heels of the announcement that the country’s first case of the omicron variant has been detected in California’s Bay Area.
