The park has been in development over the last two years

FRESNO, California (KSEE/KGPE) — After years of development, community groups held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new BMX park being built at Mary Ella Brown Community Center.

It’s the result of planning and numerous community meetings. Youth were even included in the design process for the new park.

In a press release, Fresno Building Healthy Communities (BHC) said more than 250 trees were planted around the community center in preparation for construction.

The project was funded by Fresno BHC, The California Endowment, The Disney Foundation and city funding.
