Police: Four juveniles shot in Downtown Merced, one critical

MERCED, Calif. (KSEE) — Four juveniles are in the hospital after police say they were shot in Downtown Merced Thursday.

Officers say it happened at around 8:15 p.m. in the area of H and Main Street.

Three of the victims are described as being in stable condition and the fourth is described as being in critical condition.

Speaking first to KSEE24, Merced Police Department is working to figure out how the shooting began and appealing for witnesses.

“Any witnesses that might be in the area, any video surveillance from any of the surrounding stores,” said acting Merced Police Chief Matt Williams.

“I would like to say if there’s anybody out there who is watching the release if they were in the area and saw anything definitely please give us a call.”
