The Christmas spirit is everywhere at the California Armenian Home on Kings Canyon in southeast Fresno.
A tree lighting ceremony was held Wednesday for the residents that included live musical performances and holiday food.
Among the special guests – Miss California Mackenzie Freed – who also served as the mistress of ceremonies.
“There are so many people here that Christmas is kind of a bittersweet time because maybe they’re not with their family or they’ve lost somebody that’s close to them,” Freed said. “So this is really an event where they get to suspend reality, and they get to go back to all of the great Christmas memories they’ve had in their life.”
Wednesday marked the 20th annual Christmas tree lighting at the California Armenian Home.
