Merced PD arrest 3 in connection to double shooting that left 1 dead

Dasha Winzer, 26, and Deshawn Peterson, 23, along with a 17-year-old were arrested on Tuesday in connection to a double shooting in Merced.

FRESNO, California (KSEE/KGPE) –  Dasha Winzer, 26, and Deshawn Peterson, 23, along with a 17-year-old were arrested on Tuesday in connection to a double shooting that left one man dead and another injured at  Merino Park in Merced on August 12. 

The 17-year-old is believed to be the primary shooter, Merced Police say.  Winzer and Peterson were arrested as accessories to the homicide. 

Police officers were called out to the area of Merino Park just before 9 p.m. and found two men with gunshot wounds. They were transported to the hospital by ambulance, where one of the victims died.

The man who died was identified as Samuel Bernal, 20. The other shooting victim had non-life threatening wounds.
