Man shot in Hanford officer-involved shooting identified

The man shot in the officer-involved shooting at a bar in Hanford on Wednesday has been identified.

Hanford Police said the incident at Huggy’s bar was an attempted suicide by cop. Police said the man wielding a knife is the one who called police.

The man was identified as Salvador Martinez, 34.

He was shot by police in the upper arm/shoulder area.

He was transported to an area hospital.

The Hanford Police Department said Martinez will be booked into the Kings County Jail when he’s medically cleared. 

He faces three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, nine counts of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, and a parole violation.
