FRESNO, California (KSEE/KGPE) – A man is in critical condition after being struck by a car in west central Fresno Saturday night, according to Fresno Police.

It happened around 9:45 p.m. in the area of Dakota and Hughes avenues, says Lt. Bill Dooley.

The victim lives in the area and was told several times to stop going in and out of the roadway, witnesses told police.

Dooley says the victim may have been intoxicated at the time of the crash.

The driver is “traumatized” by the collision, and Dooley says they are being cooperative.
