Local truck drivers learn new regulations to keep California’s air clean

Local News

Local truck drivers got a rundown of the newest regulations aimed at keeping the state’s air clean.

The informational event was hosted by the California Air Resources Board, the the agency that regulates the clean air rules.

By providing this one-on-one assistance, they’re hoping more drivers will be informed and compliant.

“I want drivers to take away the idea that our agency is not here simply to write citations, our agency is here to protect their health and to try and help them understand what we are doing, why we are doing it and how they can best work with within the framework we’ve created to accomplish those goals,” says Randy Opfer with the California Air Resources Board

There was also a truck inspection demonstration during the event.
