Karbassi wins D-2 council seat in landslide, what he plans to tackle right away.

Local News

What was expected to be a runoff in November for the vacant council seat in District-2, turned into a runaway special election for Mike Karbassi.

Karbassi collected more than 58% of the votes in northwest Fresno. Lawrence Garcia was a distant second only collecting 16%. Karbassi will take over Steve Brandau’s seat that he vacated after he won a seat on the Fresno County Board of Supervisors. Karbassi plans to tackle the homelessness problem as soon as he’s sworn in on August 22nd.

Karbassi will have to run again for the seat in 2020.
