At 5:30 a.m. one Salon Studio’s stylist got an unexpected phone call from her boss.

Susan Ley said her boss woke her up and said she couldn’t work in her suite today.

“They say you can’t work today, and I say why not, then the owner said let me show you,” said Ley. “The owner showed me and we have a truck in my salon!”

According to the City of Clovis, during the street sweeper’s morning route a car ran a red light crashing into the truck. Which, resulted in the street sweeper knocking out the hair salon’s wall.

Ley said it is going to take awhile to clean the mess up.

“Oh lots of clean up,” said Ley. “A lot of work needs to be done.”

Of the seven rooms in the salon only Ley’s suite was affected. She said she is still coming to terms with the damage.

“Speechless, I don’t even know what to say” said Ley. “I am just speechless right now.”

Daniel McDonald has been going to this salon for three years. He said he has never seen anything like this and is happy no one was injured.

“Oh I was just surprised to see that someone had ran into the building you know,” said McDonald.

Sgt. Jim Munro with Clovis Police said the driver of the truck is lucky to be alive and it’s a good thing no one was in the salon at the time of the crash.

“The driver of the street sweeper is extremely lucky that they were not hurt more or potentially even killed,” said Munro. “Based on the damage of the street sweeper and the building behind me.”

According to Munro the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
