An inmate was found unresponsive at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Pre-Trial Facility, and was soon declared deceased Wednesday.
Just before 8 a.m., deputies found Albert Balderas unresponsive in his cell. First-aid was administered and Balderas was rushed to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities say Balderas has been in custody and in a cell by himself since his arrest in July 11, 2018.
“No obvious signs of trauma or foul play were observed. An autopsy is scheduled for March 12,” the sheriff’s office says.
This case is still an active investigation.
