Inaugural golf tournament held to help Central Valley animals in need

A special fundraiser was held Monday at the Fort Washington Country Club all to help local pets in need.

The inaugural “Furry Friends Golf Tournament” was hosted by Animal Compassion Team, or ACT. They’re passionate about helping pets in need.

“All of the proceeds from the golf tournament will go to the Animal Compassion Team. Pay for the care of rescue and neglected and abandoned animals, they’ll pay for medical bills, pay for supplies, cleaning supplies, food everything you can think of regarding the care of animals,” a spokesperson says.

140 players took part in the golf tournament, and the nonprofit is planning on an even bigger event next year.
