FRESNO, California (KSEE/KGPE) – A Hazmat situation was reported at Fresno City College on Thursday, the Fresno Fire Department said.

Fire crews were called to the campus just after 9 a.m.

Four students were exposed to a chemical in the Math & Science Building, and they suffered minor injuries, the Fire Department said. They were taken to an area hospital.

A glass shattered in a chemistry class and the students were splattered with the chemical.

The chemical has not been identified.

Classes were canceled for the day in the building.

The Fire Department said they expected cleanup crews to be at the college for the rest of the day.
