Furry friends receive microchips, vaccinations from Fresno State pre-vet students

Local News

Furry friends received microchips and were vaccinated Saturday by students with the pre-vet club at Fresno State.

Each year at the event, students administer the Parvo and Rabies vaccines for less than $20 each.

Students went through a training the week before, and put those skills to the test Saturday on their biggest crowd yet.

All of our members get to learn how to give vaccines, how to properly vaccinate, why we need to vaccinate, as well as talking to the public, and also putting that information outward to them, says Haley Moulyn, pre-vet club president.

The students’ professor, who’s licensed veterinarian, was on site.

The event raises money for the club to take a trip to two popular California veterinary schools.
