FRESNO, California – A Fresno Police officer was involved in a southeast Fresno crash Sunday night while responding to a call for an officer in need.
Around 6:40 p.m., she was responding with lights and a siren to a call for help near the Highway 180 and Peach Avenue off-ramp.
While she was going through the intersection, she collided into a white SUV with three people inside, says Fresno Police Lt. Charlie Chamalbide.
It’s unknown who is at fault in the crash.
She’s been with the department for about two years and Chamalbide said she will likely be placed on medical leave.
No injuries were reported, but she and one other occupant of the SUV were transported to the hospital as a precaution.
Drugs and/or alcohol are not a factor in the crash.
Roads in the area will reopen around 8:30 p.m.
