Fresno kids learn the rules of the road during ‘Bike Safety Rodeo’

Local News

FRESNO, California (KGPE) – School is back in session which means many kids will be walking or biking to school.

To make sure they are safe on the road, Fresno Unified partnered with the California Highway Patrol and Fresno Fire Department for a ‘Bike Safety Rodeo.’ A course set up at Leavenworth Elementary School tested their safety skills. They could get their bikes checked to make sure they are in working order and get a free helmet from the Fresno Fire Department.

“Biking or walking to school builds a lot of important skills around independence and decision making for our youth and its very good for their physical health,” said Fresno Unified Board Member Genoveva Islas.
