Fire crews battle apartment fire in southeast Fresno, families expected to be displaced

Local News

Fire crews battled an apartment fire in southeast Fresno Friday night.

At around 7 p.m., the fire was reported to be under control, according to Fresno Fire Department spokesperson Robert Castillo.

But when the fire started, it was a different story. Once the fire broke out at the corner of Tyler and Backer avenues, fire crews went into rescue mode due to reports someone was inside.

However, the report turned out to be inaccurate.

There are no reports of injuries, and the cause remains under investigation.

Fire officials expect families to be displaced.
