FAX bus driver suffers medical emergency, colliding into power pole

Local News

A FAX bus driver suffered a medical emergency Sunday night and collided into a power pole in Fresno.

It happened around 7 p.m. at Fresno Street and Sierra Avenue, according to Lt. Bill Dooley with the Fresno Police Department.

The driver had a medical emergency while driving northbound on Fresno Street, Dooley says, and collided into a light pole, power pole and power box. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, while the scene was cleaned up.

He has minor injuries from the crash.

Police say the collision did not affect power, but power lines are sagging. Pacific Gas & Electric Co. crews will be on scene throughout the night making repairs.

There were no riders on the bus at the time of the crash, Dooley confirms.
