Family’s home catches fire in Clovis while they are away, losing two family pets

Local News

Firefighters battled a Clovis house fire Thursday afternoon near the neighborhood of Tarpey Village.

A single story home in the 1100 block of Saginaw Ave. caught fire just before 4 p.m., says Clovis Fire Chief John Binaski.

He says residents weren’t home at the time the fire started and a neighbor called 911. Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed no one was inside the home, but two pets died from fire-related injuries, Binaski confirms.

The fire chief says the home has significant damage and the cause is unknown.

The family has a GoFundMe account set up for those who would like to help.
