Evan Onstot announces his weeknight anchor replacement, Fresno native Alexan Balekian

Local News

March 1 marks our Evan Onstot’s last day with KSEE 24, as he accepted an anchor position at a station in Oklahoma City.

“It’s a move that will put me within close driving distance to family. We are excited but we are also going to miss living in the valley,” Evan says.

In Evan’s spot, Alexan Balekian will be joining Stefani Booroojian at the desk weeknights. Alexan will also be taking over Sunday Morning Matters.

“I’m trilled. He’s a wonderful broadcaster, a solid news man,” Evan says of Alexan.

Fresno is home for Alexan, he grew up here and interned at KSEE 24.

He began his career in Fresno covering sports, and then worked around the country, eventually switching to news, and ending up back in Fresno where he’s been our weekend anchor and reporter.

“We sat down this week at Kuppa Joy Coffee in Old Town Clovis to talk about the transition,” Evan says.

You can see much more of our conversation on this week’s Sunday Morning Matters on March 3 at 8 a.m.
