Three people were killed in a crash near Pixley on Sunday, and the California Highway Patrol said the driver who caused the accident was under the influence of alcohol.
Around 7:22 p.m., the Fresno Communication Center of CHP received a call of a traffic collision on Highway 99 southbound at Court Avenue.
Officers from the CHP Visalia office responded to the scene.
During the investigation it was determined, the driver of a 2014 Ford was northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 99 near Court Avenue, CHP said.
A 2018 Nissan with three occupants was southbound on Highway 99 when the front of the Ford collided head on with the Nissan.
The driver and front passenger of the Nissan were pronounced dead at the scene.
The rear passenger was transported to Delano Regional Medical Center where she later died.
The three haven’t been identified, but they’re from Northridge and are 45, 67, and 75 years old.
The driver of the Ford, Brenda Garcia, 23, of Corcoran, was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center with major injuries.
