Local News

FRESNO, California (KSEE/KGPE) – Fresno Fire crews are spread throughout the the city of Fresno as two fires spark on opposite sides of town Sunday night.

The first fire broke out at a home on White Avenue and 9th Street around 9:30 p.m.

Just a little after crews responded to the house fire, a call came in for an apartment fire at Fairmont and Marks avenues. A second alarm was requested.

Fresno Fire Battalion Chief Brad Driscoll says it’s unknown how the fire started in the 5 unit building, but two are majorly damaged and three were saved.

It was difficult accessing the units to battle the fire because some were single story and others were two.

About five to seven people are displaced from the apartment fire, he says. Red Cross is assisting them.

Fresno Fire tweeted there are 55 firefighters on scene of both fires.

No injuries were reported.
