Derek Carr visits the Central Valley to raise money for Valley Children’s Hospital

Local News

Derek Carr made a cameo in the Central Valley Saturday night for “Inside the Huddle” to benefit Valley Children’s Hospital.

During the limited-ticket event, Carr offered fans a unique look inside the Oakland Raiders film room, locker room and even the parking lot. “I can’t beat coach Gruden to the building, I think he sleeps there all week, because I’m just going to get there by 4:30 a.m. and his car is already there.”

He also had a meet-and-greet with fans before heading into the main program, including a raffle for two signed jerseys.

Carr’s foundation DC4KIDS, established in 2015, has raised more than $400,000 dollars for the children’s hospital.

The quarterback is no stranger to the valley, as he was born in Bakersfield and played football at Fresno State.
